Warwick Academy

Warwick Academy is a school management platform that replaces paper sign-in sheets, scattered spreadsheets, and outdated legacy systems with a single connected web application. Every person in a school community admins, head teachers, teachers, staff, students, and parents logs in and sees exactly the tools and data relevant to their role. We built the full product from backend API to frontend interface, including a physical kiosk system that runs on standard touchscreen hardware at school gates, gyms, reception desks, and more.

Schools were running on disconnected tools. Gate attendance on paper. House points in spreadsheets. Behavior records in emails. Parents had no real-time visibility into their child's progress. Administrators spent hours compiling reports that should take seconds. The challenge was building a platform comprehensive enough to handle 15+ operational modules (check-in, behavior, attendance, equipment, detentions, clubs, reports) while keeping it fast enough that a student can check in at a kiosk in under 5 seconds with just a 5-digit ID.

We built a React 18 and TypeScript frontend with an ASP.NET Core 8 backend and SQL Server database. The platform supports 9 kiosk types, each tailored to a specific location — school gate, front desk, primary building, reception, equipment room, support lounge, barber hall, weight room, and classroom entry. The behavior module handles house points, demerits, work-offs, missed homework tracking, homework club obligations, and Saturday detentions with automatic threshold triggers. Role-based permissions allow admins to control access down to individual screen-level. and a full audit logging tracks every action with timestamps and IP addresses.
